Last Adventure: PAL5S-03 Weeds, played at Winter Weekend in the Pale in Sunnyvale CA on December 3rd, 2005.
Class & Levels: As a young boy in the Shield Lands, Duoghi had dreamed of being a treasure hunter. The idea of reading about lost and forgotten places containing fantastic treasures occupied his thoughts. At a young age, the local librarians got to know him quite well, though they thought the choice of subject matter a bit odd perhaps. Always quick on his feet, Duoghi also had a very good memory. Both attributes would serve him well in the years to come. Duoghi retires as Rogue 2 / Wizard 7 / Loremaster 9.
Description: Duoghi is Oeridian man in his mid twenties, 6 feet tall, slight of build, with light brown hair and green eyes. Duoghi is noticeably quiet, usually taking notes about the situation for future reference. He wears robes of a light shade of blue with green trim, winged boots, and a jeweled headband.
Favorite Saying: "Knowledge is power."
Most Frequently Adventured With: His familiar Ron (a weasel he befriended in his youth), and his boon adventuring companion Kherina (whom he met on his first adventure). Kherina has been Duoghi’s “bodyguard” as they traveled Oerth (and sometimes beyond) defeating great evil and finding items of great power - surprising how often those two coincide...
Duoghi met his patron god Trithereon only once, after a particularly nasty encounter with a half-fiend wolf creature (Big Game Hunter). Duoghi considers the following individuals close friends and great allies (all stalwart adventuring companions these past couple of years): Francis (though he still calls Duoghi “Doug-ee” from time to time), Sebastian, Cranston, Bishop Maynerd, Tell, Belfor Silverstreak, Geoff Rengate (Shield Lands) and Garzak (Nyrond). There are many people with whom Duoghi wishes he could have adventured with more: Shaelin, Kristiana, Moonwhisper, Buster, Morgan, just to name a few...
Most Interesting Statistic: Duoghi’s reflexes (especially for a wizard) have always been one of the best (Reflex save = 26). Much damage has been evaded throughout his adventuring career.
What He Plans to Do During Retirement: Duoghi has settled down in the town of Stradsett in the Theocracy of the Pale and plans to work on his library, now that the everyday cares of society no longer require his attention. Of course, he is merely one Greater Teleport spell away from assisting wherever needed.
Number of Regions Visited: 7 (excluding all Core and Metaregional scenarios) — Theocracy of the Pale, Shield Lands, Highfolk, Nyrond, Veluna, Ket, and Keoland.
Most Heroic Moment: Two moments come to mind… The first was very early on in Duoghi’s career when assaulting a walled fortress in “The Invisible Hand”. His companion Kherina was attacked by four charging orcs with greataxes and was hit twice (once was a crit). As a second level fighter and with a lot of luck, Kherina actually survived the blows (albeit literally clinging to life). Duoghi, who had been right behind her, pulled a potion and fed it to Kherina (who stabilized, but did not become conscious). Duoghi remembers hoping the four orcs wouldn’t then kill him as a result (being much less armored and less able to take a blow than the hardy Kherina). All four orcs took swings, but surprisingly only one of them hit ... and Duoghi lived to adventure another day...
The other instance involved Duoghi’s very first adventure in the Theocracy of the Pale. An evil guard and a Rex-Artook had just taken down a companion behind enemy lines (inside a cottage with a single entrance/exit). In a rash act, Duoghi tumbled into the cottage as well in order to stand over the body of his companion. Fortunately Duoghi was quickly joined by Kherina, with one more companion (being unable to tumble well) opting to fight from where he was. The other two party members fled for their lives. The antagonists quickly blocked the entrance, dividing the party into three groups. After suffering through a hostage situation and a very tense fight, the four characters all survived.
