The standard measure of years is the Common Year, a system that began when the Overking of Aerdy declared universal peace through the whole of the Great Kingdom. In the Living Greyhawk campaign, January 1st, 2001 marked the beginning of 591 CY while January 1st, 2002 starts 592 CY. A year, or Dozenmonth, is 364 days long composed of 12 months and 4 week-long festivals. Months are 28 days, divided into 4 weeks. The month is based on the period of Oerth's Great Moon, Luna. The timing of the Festivals is based on the period of Oerth's lesser moon, the aquamarine Celene, and occur every 3 months. Luna and Celene are often referred to as the Mistress and the Handmaiden, respectively. There are also 5 "wandering stars" that travel through the 12 Lairs of the Zodiac: Edill (white), Gnibile (red), Conatha (blue), Ginsei (green), and Greela (green).
